• Former governor-general of Canada Adrienne Clarkson is a big hockey fan. Clarkson donated the Clarkson Cup (the female version of the Stanley Cup, awarded to the winner of the National Canadian Women’s Hockey Championship, which takes place March 27-8 in Richmond Hill). She went on the attack for women’s hockey, writing an op-ed in the Globe&Mail, in which she directly addressed Jacques Rogge, president of the International Olympic Committee.
